Asked if he thought it was a good investment to spend so much of his own money in a two-way Democratic primary to run against a popular Republican with millions in campaign cash, Greene replied: “Rather than just save the $10,000 and just go and buy gasoline with it, just take [it] and just be unemployed for [an] even longer period of time, I mean, that wouldn’t make any sense, um, just, um, but, uh, yes, uh … lowering these gas prices … that will create jobs, too. Anything that will lower the gasoline prices. Offshore drilling, the energy package, all that.”

Million Dollar Baby was good but not good enough to be on this list. You know, like Pan's Labyrinth. Personally I don't think Pan's Labyrinth is even top 25 of 2006, but whatev.

Jesus Camp is entertaining but I don't think it deserves near this list, and Grizzly Man was way better. Just the source material alone was much more haunting and intriguing than Jesus Camp, which in a way was the same political/religious bullshit everyone argues about until they are blue in the face, just with a psychotic twist.

But again, Dear Zachary is better than both.

Figuring that I highly enjoyed most of the list that I've seen would I like it?

Like I just saw Talk To Her and I don't think I would really 'recommend' it to anybody but I thought it was kind of great. Is it that kind of thing?

Depends on if you are in the mood for a 3 hour dramedy about a modern Taiwanese family that moves... well, I wouldn't say at a glacial pace, but he sure does pause a lot. I'd call it meditative.

Also, it's more subtly formalist than self-consciously arty. And some the shots are lovely.
