Asked if he thought it was a good investment to spend so much of his own money in a two-way Democratic primary to run against a popular Republican with millions in campaign cash, Greene replied: “Rather than just save the $10,000 and just go and buy gasoline with it, just take [it] and just be unemployed for [an] even longer period of time, I mean, that wouldn’t make any sense, um, just, um, but, uh, yes, uh … lowering these gas prices … that will create jobs, too. Anything that will lower the gasoline prices. Offshore drilling, the energy package, all that.”

The way the points are calculated is kind of dumb. For example, one single person made Fahrenheit 9/11 their top pick, giving it 50 points and therefore making sure it got placed higher than movies which were listed by more people but got fewer total points (Donnie Darko, 3 nominations, 47 points). It might have worked if they used a lot more than six reviewers… Even if you like Moore's stuff, would you really say that was the best movie of the decade? Really?

Sicko is way better anyway

I'm kinda surprised to see Eternal Sunshine at #1. It's very good but I just didn't expect that.

There Will Be Blood is probably my pick honestly

Most of the stuff in the list is stuff I liked perhaps I am a middlebrow critic (or should be)

Also I rewatched 25th Hour awhile ago and it's really well done and I think gets overlooked and it's nice to see it on this go see it if you haven't!

Notable exceptions:
- Lost in Translation is kinda overrated (wow it's like I made the same post twice)
- Dogville is silly and loooonnnnggg
- I didn't "get" Punch-Drunk-Love
- Haha someone voted for Gerry
- Donnie Darko was pret-what I should see the theatrical cut? Ok RD I will someday
- Gus Van Sant's "walkin' and dyin'" movies actually got votes ugh

I love you, Brak, and Imma let you finish, but Pan's Labyrinth was the best film of the decade.

Pan's Labyrinth is a great example of a movie that was highly overrated, it barely cracks its year's top 25, let alone a movie of the decade list

and yes whoever would vote Gerry for movie of the decade deserves to be shot

This'll probably be a lot cooler after they add more, yes

It's a fine movie but I still say that whatever year it came out in (I think 2007?) had a lot better movies and I don't really get all the hype and praise outside of the novelty of it being a "fairy tale for adults."

Then again I was also in the minority on Slumdog Millionaire so might as well drop it

you + joe have always been pretty annoying as far as needing to classify something as overrated. Pans Labyrinth ruled and didn't rule as hard as every other movie which ruled that year but it still ruled and should be acknowledged as ruling.
