There's some stories that are just fantastic from start to finish (Long Halloween). There's some stories that are incredibly original and become ICONIC in the comic industry (The Dark Knight Returns). There are some stories that aren't either of the two previous but are still thoroughly entertaining reads (Batman: Year One / Batman: A Death in the Family). Then there are some that are just mostly boring (The Man Who Laughs) or just suck (Hush). How do you rank these stories? Which ones do you think are good or bad? Which stories do you think should be included in these lists but isn't? I've had some fun reading some classic Bat storylines recently with the hype of The Dark Knight and all and thought this might be interesting.
1. The Long Halloween
2. Dark Victory
3. The Killing Joke
4. The entire Batman Adventures volume 2 series (This isn't really an arc but I felt like including it)
5. Dark Knight Returns
6. Knightfall (I think this gets unfairly lumped in with The Death of Superman)
7. Year One
8. A Death in the Family
9. Broken City
10. Dark Knight Strikes Again
11. The Man Who Laughs
12. Hush
By the way, here is an IGN list of the top 25 Batman graphic novels ever:
